Smart Cities Council Australia New Zealand has welcomed with much excitement the appointment of Romilly Madew as Infrastructure Australia’s new Chief Executive Officer.
“As a long-time friend and industry champion that has relentlessly advocated for better outcomes for our built environment, I could not think of a more passionate and active leader to take Infrastructure Australia forward” said Adam Beck, Executive Director of Smart Cities Council Australia New Zealand.
“Australia’s global leadership and sustainability performance in the property sector has been in part the direct result of her continued energy to bring stakeholders together and catalyse change through better policy and practice.
“Romilly’s 13 year’s leading the Green Building Council of Australia, and her representation on numerous national and international boards and committees has strengthened our built environment community to be one that is deeply collaborative, more gender diverse and driven by performance,” Mr Beck said.
As our cities and communities continue to be pressured by population growth, congestion and a changing climate, there is a greater acknowledgement that smart infrastructure is a necessary investment to ensure we maintain liveable and sustainable communities here in Australia.
“The Smart Cities Council has enjoyed a deep relationship with the Green Building Council of Australia under Romilly Madew’s leadership and looks forward to continuing to work with Romilly in her new role,” Mr Beck said.
