Workshop to share and advance Texas Readiness for Resilience Roadmap containing smart city projects that will improve hurricane and disaster resilience across Texas.
This invitation-only workshop will take place May 20-21 in Galveston Texas. It will advance the Texas Readiness for Resilience Roadmap that was developed following a series of stakeholder discovery workshops held in Dec 2018 where communities shared resilience priorities and worked with resilience and smart city experts to define projects to improve hurricane and disaster resilience across Texas. The Roadmap also builds upon the Report of the Governor’s Commission to Rebuild Texas.
This workshop is the last of a three-stage Qualcomm-sponsored Readiness for Resilience Program, in partnership with Smart Cities Council, Texas A&M University Agrilife Extension, Business Council for Sustainable Energy and National Association of State Energy Officials. This event will facilitate working partnerships between cities, communities, technology partners and funding entities based on roadmap outputs.
Focus areas include: Public Safety/Disaster Response, Energy Resilience, Telecom and Data Infrastructure, and Transportation.
